I sometimes like to cosplay when i go to conventions, but i quickly ran into the problem that there's a lack of not lame male characters in anime that have distinctive costumes. It's been suggested to me that i cosplay as Link from the Legend of Zelda games. Of course, the reason i won't is that his costume is essentially a green mini dress with pantyhose.
So that got me thinking: maybe Link is like Samus. Those of us who actually had to buy a cartridge to play the original Metroid game recall how the manual repeatedly referred to Samus as a "he," only to reach the end of the game and learn the truth.
I have plenty of evidence to support the female link theory. In a Link to the Past, her hair is Pink. When she travels to the dark world, what form best reflects what's in her heart? A Pink Bunny.
Ocarina of Time easily gives the most clues to Link's identity, starting with the fact that Link has pierced both ears. Off the top of my head, i count at least four girls in that game who show some form of romantic affection for the hero, but she ignores all of them. One of the girls even decides that the best way to get noticed is by pretending to be a boy. Soon after turning 17, Link she runs off and joins a sorority of feminazis. She's so concerned about her wardrobe that she will actually change dresses when she visits King Zora or Darunia, the big boss of the Gorons. Speaking of Gorons, you don't think that Biggoron's Sword is overcompensating for anything, do you?
Nintendo just needs to fess up to the secret of Link so they can make a Smash Bros beach volleyball game.
And yes, i am far too lazy to color this properly so i just used a bunch of cheap layer effects instead. So sue me.
